hackergrep is a powerful search tool for finding tech jobs and historical salary range data. It indexes public job posts from company ATS boards, including Greenhouse, Ashby, Lever, Workday, and others, plus non-traditional sources such as Hacker News hiring threads.
hackergrep is also a notifications platform. A confirmed email alert can notify you when a role first appears and meets your saved criteria. A signed-in account can manage rules and schedules in one place, while paid accounts can route individual matches to signed webhooks.

One index across fragmented hiring sources
Company career sites are spread across many applicant tracking systems, each with different fields, URLs, and pagination rules. hackergrep reads public postings from those sources, normalizes the useful fields, and keeps the canonical source or employer application URL attached to every result. Hacker News hiring threads add roles that may never appear on a traditional board.

RECENCY SIGNAL
We track jobs with "first-seen," not "posted date"
ATS systems often display incorrect or misleading "posted" dates on job roles. hackergrep keys alerts on when we first saw a unique job, so you can hear about new openings as soon as they enter our index, not days later from a repost site.

QUERY LANGUAGE
Search narrowly without giving up control
Use plain keywords or boolean syntax. + means AND, | means OR,
- means NOT, and quotes keep phrases together. Filters narrow results by remote
arrangement, region, role, seniority, technology, salary, company, and source. Results
default to jobs first seen in the last 30 days, with an option to include older records.

Comparable search thresholds
Employers may define ranges in local currency. Salary filters use annual U.S. dollar thresholds, but hackergrep does not currently apply live foreign-exchange conversion. The source currency and raw range remain visible.

HISTORICAL PAY SIGNALS
See the ranges employers actually published
When an authoritative public job post includes a salary range, hackergrep records the range and when it was observed. Salary history can reveal how a range changes across titles, locations, or time. Every record should be treated as a source-reported range, not a promise of compensation or an estimate invented by hackergrep.
- Source-linked: ranges stay associated with the public job URL.
- Historical: changes can remain useful after the live posting moves or closes.
- Conservative: if a source does not publish pay, hackergrep does not fabricate it.

Turn a search into a notification rule
You can save the criteria that matter to you as a confirmed email alert and receive a message
when newly observed roles match. You can pause, resume, schedule, and delete account-owned
alerts from the account page. Paid accounts can attach verified HTTPS destinations; every
job is delivered as an idempotent, signed alert.match event.

We cover a curated but broad selection of tech companies, startups, and technical roles at larger employers. We do not cover every company or role. hackergrep was built to help engineers find best-match technical roles faster and more efficiently, and that is where our coverage stays focused.
- We index public sources. We do not scrape private boards or LinkedIn.
- We link to the employer application page or original source post. We do not auto-apply for you.
- Openings can change, close, or contain errors. Verify important details with the employer.
- We do not sell your email address. Alert subscriptions and future account features are governed by our Terms.
